Museum Street, Warrington

Alpha Planning obtained planning permission for the erection of a three storey rear extension and conversion, as well as change of use of original art college building to provide 42 serviced apartments (Class C1) following partial demolition of rear.  The building is locally listed and sits within the historically important town centre conservation area, requiring heritage aspects to be assessed in the planning submission.

The Council accepted that the development would benefit the town centre economy and that there would be additional benefit in seeing the re-use of this long-vacant heritage asset. They granted planning permission following the completion of a S106 legal agreement.
