Sandpit Lane, St. Albans
A planning application for the erection of two dwelling houses at on a backland site in St. Albans was granted planning permission by the local planning authority. The application had to address issues relating to the design and character of the area, access, amenities of adjoining occupiers, ecology and biodiversity.
The Council could not demonstrate a five year housing land supply, had no up-to-date local plan and accepted that the proposal provided a high quality and characterful environment that would be consistent with the qualities and appearance of the surrounding area and accord with policies in the NPPF.
