This former equestrian centre on a prestigious road in Barnet is situated within the Green Belt. Alpha Planning argued that the development of a modern two storey dwelling would not be inappropriate development within the Green Belt, and would accord with paragraph 154(g) of the NPPF. The Council originally refused the scheme on the basis that no case for very special circumstances had been demonstrated.
We appealed against the decision and won on appeal with the Inspector confirming that the proposal was not inappropriate development in the Green Belt, met the exceptions test and did not conflict with the purposes of the Green Belt.
